Join us for the 2018 Annual Conference in Richmond, Virginia! The history of Richmond as a modern city, dates to the early 17th century, and is crucial to the development of the colony of Virginia, the American Revolutionary War, and the Civil War. Trendy boutiques and restaurants, numerous sports and entertainment attractions, outdoor pursuits among one of the nation's largest river park systems, and a treasure trove of historic landmarks provide plenty of fun!
2018 Keynote Presentation
We are thrilled to announce that Patricia (Pat) A. McLagan will be our keynote speaker. Pat is a recognized expert and thought leader in in the adult development arena. The title of her speech is “Re-thinking learning and HRD for the Age of AI.” Pat’s view is that learners’ capabilities, confidence, and self-image in learning need radical change in order to thrive in a world of proliferating resources, information overload, artificial intelligence, and many other paradigm shifting forces.
2018 Town Hall Forum Announced!
What Lies Ahead for HRD? A Pecha Kucha Exploration of Future Trends
Join us for an exciting Town Forum session featuring leaders in the field sharing their thoughts about trends that will likely affect the future HRD. Each presentation will be in the Pecha Kucha format--that is, each presenter only gets 20 slides for 20 seconds each to share their scholarship and provoke our thinking. It’s a fun and highly stimulating way to process a lot of great information and get all of us thinking together about some of the things that will affect the work HRD professionals will do in the future. Expect high-energy and “stretch” thinking and come ready to play with these ideas!
Organized by Wendy Ruona, President of AHRD.
